A vacuum will loose over 50% of its ability to pick up and retain dirt once the bag is 20% full. Vacuuming every day will remove any loose dirt that will later be ground into the floor damaging the fibers in the carpet. Always vacuum using slow strokes, giving the vacuum time to pick up the loose soil.

There are three types of blinds – wooden, fabric and vertical. Vacuum blinds often with the brush attachment across the slats – not up and down this will loosen the slats if vacuumed up and down. You can also use a lambswool duster to dust the slats, never use a plastic duster. The fabric and vinyl blinds you can use a rubber dry sponge found at hardware or paint stores to remove dust, just wipe across the blinds.
When spot cleaning spray all purpose cleaner onto a clean cloth and wipe the blind – do not spray directly on the blind. For wooden blinds they can be wet, but not soaked. Clean them in place without removing the blind.
Fabric blinds can also be cleaned by a dry cleaner.
